Frank Orlando

Frank Orlando, a longtime resident of Millbrook, NY, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on May 17, 2025 at the remarkable age of 96 years old.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosalie; his loving daughter, Dawn Mejias, his brothers, Joe and Anthony; and his grandson Will Chorney.
He is survived by his devoted son, Frank (Margaret), and his loving daughter, Francine Chorney. He will be deeply missed by his adoring grandchildren: Christopher (Melissa) and Michael Hanna, Adrienne (Malcolm), Thomas and Jonathan (Meghan) Orlando; and his great grandchildren: William Chorney, Olivia Hanna, and Robin Orlando- Biggs. Frank also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy Frank served his country proudly. Shortly after his honorable discharge from the Navy, he met the love of his life Rosalie when their eyes met across the dance floor. They had three children and many Adventures. Rosalie took him places he would not otherwise have been. He was devoted to her to the end.
Frank possessed a profound passion for flying. He shared countless joyful moments with his esteemed flying companions, Eric and Harold, soaring through the skies
When he and Rosalie built their house in Millbrook, he met his dear friend Ray. From that point forward his family knew they could always count on Ray to lend a hand and fix anything.
Frank's family would like to express their thanks to Alice and his friends at the Office of Aging, Amenia Center, for their companionship. The family would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Castle Point VA for the caregiving of their dad and many other veterans.
To many Frank will be fondly remembered as a dapper gentleman always impeccably dressed with his signature hat and suspenders and for his wonderful sense of humor
Visitation will be held Friday May 23, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Doyle Funeral Home located at 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie NY 12603. A service will be held Saturday May 24th, 2025, at 11 AM at Poughkeepsie rural cemetery. Entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Millbrook Rescue Squad, 20 Front Street, P.O. Box 202, Millbrook, NY 12545.
