Frank Deanie Petta, 80 years old of Wilmer, TX, was born July 30, 1944 in Dallas, TX and passed from this life on March 4, 2025.
Wilmer, TX became home to Frank in 1969. He loved his city and his community. Frank was the first paid patrol officer for Wilmer and was eventually hired as the Chief of Police. He was also an outstanding fenceman. Frank started his first fencing job at the age of 17, and he retired from fencing at 62.
He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family more than anything and who was loved by everyone.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma Petta; his brother, George Howard Petta; and his daughter, Doris DeAnn Fitzgerald.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila; his daughters, Sherie Dean, Tara Petta, and Belinda Valdez and husband Mario; his grandchildren, Johnny Miller, Casie Williams and husband Ryan, Amber Seeton and husband Jason, Frank Hernandez, Alex Hernandez, Ashley Martinez, April Bynum and husband Brody, and Danelle Fitzgerald; his 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will received friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home. A celebration of Frank's life will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel.
