Frank Taraborelli, Sr., 70 of Cranston passed away on Thursday April 10, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William and Rose Mary (Ryan) Taraborelli.

Frank was a carpenter by trade, retiring recently, and was a member of the Rhode Island Carpenters Union - Local 94, for 50 years. He worked hard his whole life to give his family everything he was able to provide. Frank grew up playing many sports and excelled at wrestling and football at Cranston High School East. The highlight of his time there was winning the Rhode Island State Football championship in 1972. When his playing days were over he coached his sons Vincent and Frank in baseball and hockey. His most important lessons were the life lessons he provided, such as the importance of hard work and family.

Frank enjoyed the simpler things in life. A great day was making fresh-made pasta at home with his family, with his two dogs by his side. He was a fan of most sports, especially the New York Giants, Boston Bruins, and Red Sox. It may have taken a bit of convincing for him to take his first cruise, but after that, it was Frank’s preferred type of vacation. He held many titles; his favorite, however, would be that he was a Hockey Dad. He took great pride that both his sons played hockey, and he was always rink side showing his support.

He was the father of Frank Taraborelli, Jr., and Vincent Taraborelli and his wife Ashley. He was the grandfather of Liliana Taraborelli. He was the brother of Gail Scognamiglio and her husband Sabino, and Roseann Read and her husband Kenneth. He was also the nephew of Evelyn Tagilaferri. He was married to his former wife Claire Taraborelli (D’Amico) for 19 years.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday April 19, 2025, at the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, from 2:00 – 4:00pm, with a service beginning at 4:00pm. Burial will be private.
