Frank Jude Vallo passed away on June 29, at age 84. He was born in Cleveland to Margaret (nee Bishut) and Frank Vallo. After graduation from Cathedral Latin High School he joined the Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Observation Island during the first at-sea launch of the Polaris missile. He then attended Ohio State University until, gripped by wanderlust during a blizzard, he left for California where he met his future wife. They married in the San Gabriel Mission then eventually moved to Chardon to raise their family. Frank became interested in his Slovak ancestry and did extensive research to find relatives living in Slovakia. That search led him to European trips that established amazing life-long family bonds. Blessed with the gift of gab, he made friends easily and was at his happiest sharing stories and humorous anecdotes. And he always, always welcomed a good debate. Left to remember the love and the laughter are his wife of 59 years Sandra (nee Foltz), son Matthew (Julia) and daughter Laura; sisters Joan (Roger) Jehlicka, Judy (Jim) Mazzola, and Wendy (Bill) Lewis; in-laws Gary and Beann Foltz; nieces Carrie Krenicky, Diana Mazzola, Kira Foltz and Brittany Robertson; nephews Dan Mazzola and Fielding Lewis. Visitation will be from 10-11am on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes, 126 South Street, Chardon with a service to follow at 11am at the funeral home. Pastor Diane Casavecchia will officiate. Interment will be at Larned Cemetery. Services entrusted to the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Madison, Chardon, Painesville & Fairport Harbor.
