Frank Hugh Wright

Frank "Frankie" Hugh Wright, 68, of Peru, passed away at 6:22 AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL, on January 29, 1957, the son of Frank D. and Dovie Mosley Wright. Frank married Jamie Ocheltree on November 22, 1991 and she survives. Frankie was a 1975 graduate of Peru High School and worked many years on the State Highway Department before his retirement. He enjoyed coaching the Lady Tigers in softball and watching his kids grow into the adults they are now. Frankie found great joy in the outdoors, whether it was camping trips or sneaking away to his favorite fishing hole. Above all, Frankie loved spending time with his grandkids, being the best grandpa he could be. Frank is survived by his wife Jamie; children Jamie (Kailee) Wright of Peru, Michelle (Casey) Bell of Hartford City, Rachel Smithberger of Hartford City; grandchildren Lainey Wright, Merrick Wright, Mason Bell, and Marlee Bell; siblings Ricky (Patty) Wright of Peru, Edward Wright of Peru, and Charlie Wright of Peru. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service celebrating the life of Frank Hugh Wright will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St. Peru, with Rev. Kevin Robbins officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
