Frank Zagar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - Brookfield on Sep. 16, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Frank J. Zagar – Born into eternal life on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 101. Preceded in death by his parents Anton and Theresa Zagar and his siblings Anton (Tony) Zagar and Theresa Pender. Also survived by his siblings Stephanie and Raymond Zagar along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Frank will be remembered as a loving, caring and giving brother, uncle and friend. He served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged from the Army on February 21, 1946. He worked for the city of Milwaukee as a meter reader, retiring in 1984. Frank had many interests including building and flying model airplanes, water and snow skiing, playing sheepshead, fishing, playing softball (well into his eighties) and listening to music (especially jazz and big band).

Much of his time was spent with his 14 nieces and nephews teaching and nurturing them in his loving, patient and humorous ways. The world is a much better place because he was in it. He will be dearly missed. Love you Frank, until we meet again.

Memorial will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM. Funeral Service at 4:00 PM
