Frankie Lamanac, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at his residence in Blairsville, GA, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on February 20, 1952, in Marietta, GA, Frankie's life was a testament to his resilience, dedication, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures.
For many years, Frankie was a familiar sight on the long highways that cut across the country as an Over the Road truck driver. Away from the roar of his truck, Frankie reveled in quieter pursuits enjoying fishing and being outdoors. He was also a fan of the western genre, immersing himself in the dusty trails and showdowns of classic movies. His passion further extended as an avid NASCAR fan.
But above all, Frankie's heart belonged to his family, especially when it came to his grandchildren. He adored his cat, "Fat Cat," who was a faithful feline companion. Frankie will be remembered not only for his hearty laughter and genuine kindness but also for the steadfast love he showered upon his family and friends.
Frankie was preceded in death by his son, Franklin Lamanac, Jr; parents, Hugh Lee and Sarah Lamanac, and brother, Ray Lamanac.
He is survived by his companion, Marie Cook; children, Wesley Lamanac (Sylvia), Candice Isabell (Johnny), James Cook (Holly) and Molly Sosebee (Terry); brother, Philip Lamanac; sister-in-law, Helen Lamanac; twelve grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Clayton and Rev. Terry Sosebee officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Lunsford, Jimmy Goddard, Wesley Lamanac, Ryan Lamanac, James Cook and Clayton Cook. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Lamanac and Mike Satterfield.
