In Loving Memory of Frankie Lee Ward
March 1, 1979 – September 9, 2025
Frankie Lee Ward, 46, passed away on September 9, 2025 in Eugene, Oregon. He was born on March 1, 1979, in Tampa, Florida, to Joyce Ann Ward and Frankie Lee Hawkins.
Frankie led a life marked by service, strength, and a thirst for knowledge. He began his collegiate career at Grambling State College on a football scholarship before enlisting in the U.S. Marines at the age of 18. Over the years, Frankie served his country with pride, undertaking various missions at duty stations around the globe, including Iraq and Afghanistan. After transitioning to the Army Reserves, he was honorably discharged in 2008, earning multiple medals and accolades throughout his military career.
Following his military service, Frankie faced challenges in finding his next calling, but his love for fitness and personal growth led him to become deeply involved in bodybuilding. He spent countless hours researching workouts, nutrition, and health to continually improve himself. Frankie's dedication to fitness was matched only by his insatiable curiosity. He loved learning, especially about history, and could always be counted on for an insightful and spirited conversation about the past and present. Frankie considered himself a "nerd" in the best way possible-someone who relished intellectual debates and was always willing to talk to anyone, even strangers, finding common ground no matter how differing their views might be.
In addition to his military service and fitness journey, Frankie played for two semi-professional football teams in Aurora, Colorado, where he spent most of his adult life. His passion for the game, along with his ability to connect with people from all walks of life, left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Frankie is survived by his wife, Jennifer George-Love; his three sons, Takeo Ward, Blazuan Ward, and Ananzi Ward; his stepdaughters, Katilla Osindero-Sneed (Lymon), Riccya George-Love, Symaria George-Love, Talayla George-Love and Kalisya George-Love; his brother, Nicholas Ward; his loving Auntie Linda Ward, his father Frankie Lee Hawkins; and a host of friends and family who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joyce Ann Ward; his grandmother, Cora Ward; his sister, Kadeidra Ward; and several other loved ones.
A balloon release in Frankie's honor will take place at Dubois Park (19075 Dubois Rd, Jupiter, FL 33477) on Sunday October 12, 2025, at noon. The family requests that attendees wear white, blue, or green in remembrance.
Services will be held at South Florida National Cemetery (6501 South State Road Lake Worth, FL 33449) on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in one of the following ways; Zelle: [email protected], PayPal: @wiigaay, or CashApp: $wiigaay
