Velada's work in accounting and nonprofit organizations reflected her dedication to helping others, but her creative side was just as strong. She was the author of The Last December (2019) and had been joyfully working on her second book, diving deep into research during her free time.
She found happiness in simple, beautiful things such as flowers, birds, crafting, scrapbooking, genealogy, card making, and long days at the beach. She loved the color purple and the smell of lavender. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and being a Nana to her grand babies.
Velada was preceded in death by her parents, Roche and Zelda Allard, and is survived by her husband Neil, their children Patrick, Leila, and Lexi, grandkids Lydia and Kalahari and her many siblings who will carry on her memory.
Her family will hold a private celebration of life to honor the incredible person she was.
Her love will live on.

Neil and Family-
Our deepest condolences to you all. Velada was such a vibrant, rich soul who loved a good conversation, laughter and a deep love for her family. I have fond memories of spending time with her as a kid and later as a young mom.
I know her memory and love will live on in all who knew her.
