Mr. Franklin Delano Davis, age 77, passed away at his home on November 28, 2011. He was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir and play music. His favorite type of music was Blue Grass. He worked in the auto parts business for more than 40 years. He is preceded in death by his Mother Lessie and Father Orville Gorham Davis, Brothers James Willard, Gordon Edwin and Amber Redmon Davis, Sister Louise D. Fisher. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Charlotte Harper Davis of the home, Four Sisters Gladys D. Bryan, Naomi "Pat" D. Combs, Anita D. (John) Brinkley, Peggy D. (Joe) Newton, several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of his life will be held at Shenandoah Baptist Church, December1, 2011 at 7 Pm with the Rev. Glenn Hill, Rev. Timothy Parker and Rev. Richard Collins. The family will be receiving friends after the service in the Church. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11am at the Mill Branch Cemetery. Special thanks to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General Hospital. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Shenandoah Baptist Church, 3894 Shenandoah Drive, Rocky Mount NC 27803 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General Hospital, 1771 Jeffreys Road, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
