Franklin Douglas MacArthur DuFour Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home on Jan. 11, 2026.
Franklin Douglas MacArthur DuFour, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, surrounded by his family. Frank was born on May 23, 1942, in Minden, West Virginia, the son of George and Jennie (McCormick) DuFour. He began his working life as a Merchant Marine, sailing the Great Lakes-a career he truly enjoyed. He loved being on the boats and was proud to serve. Frank worked for many years as a pipefitter at RMI and later owned and operated Sandor Siding Company. He also worked in maintenance and was a custodian for Lincoln School and ATech. A devoted servant of God, Frank was a faithful member of Harbor Avenue Church of God, where he taught adult Sunday School for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and horseback riding. He especially loved watching his children play sports and was very active in his grandchildren's lives, cherishing every moment spent with them. Frank is survived by his children, Frank (Celena) DuFour, Lisa (Gary) Kaydo and honorary daughter, Danielle (Shawn) Madill; his sister, Evelyn (Dempsey) Birchfield; grandchildren, Dr. Taylor, Tyler (Gina), Trent, Juliana, and Kinsley DuFour, and Lindsey (Pat) Reardon, Ryan (Matt) Keel, and Hunter Kaydo; three great-grandchildren, Mak and Thomas Keel and Rowan Reardon; and his dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sandra (Legg) DuFour; and his siblings, Richard, James, George, John, Harold, Jack, Daniel, and Emma Sturgill. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Road. A graveside service at Greenlawn Memory Gardens will immediately follow. Online guestbook and condolences may be viewed at www.ducro.com.
