Franklin Eugene Snapp
(March 4, 1947 – October 9, 2025)
Frank Snapp, 78, of Leander, TX, died in his home surrounded by his immediate family on Thursday, October 9.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert and Chadyeane Snapp, and moved soon after to Des Moines, Iowa, where he lived through junior high before moving to Livermore, California. He attended Livermore High School and graduated in 1965. After high school, he worked at Safeway Stores. During this time, he met his wife, Carol Sue Smith, and they were married for 58 years until his death. He continued his education while working in financial institutions and real estate. His brother-in-law, David Stanley, gave him an opportunity in real estate appraisal, where he excelled, launching him into a successful career in mortgage banking and project management. He ran his own consulting business called Financial Earnings Services from 2005 until he retired in 2022.
After marriage, Frank and Carol moved to Texas, near her family. There, Frank became a Christian and grew spiritually, becoming a well-regarded Bible teacher and eventually an elder in his local church in Alief, Texas. Frank and Carol lived in the Houston area for 25 years. After living in Houston, his work brought him to Concord, North Carolina, and Dallas, Texas, before settling in the Austin area, where he and Carol have lived since 2002. At the time of his passing, they were active in the Northwest Church of Christ congregation.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Chadyeane Snapp. He is survived by his three brothers, Edgar, Douglas, and Rodney Snapp; his wife, Carol; their two children, Todd (wife Melissa) and Kelley Pittman (husband Matt); and by his seven grandchildren-Andrew, Brady, Lucy, and Jenna Snapp, and Franklin, Molly, and Gram Pittman.
Frank loved the Lord and served Him faithfully all his life, sharing his faith in Christ with his family and many others. He was beloved by all who knew him and was known as unselfish, generous, compassionate, and a wise leader. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
