Franklyn M Gibson passed away peacefully at his home in Bluffton, SC on September 7, 2025 several days shy of his 90th birthday. A son of Frank O. and Ethel Gibson he moved to Bluffton in 2010 from Beaver, PA trading cold, snowy winters for sunshine, golf and fishing.
In his new home Frank enjoyed being outdoors on the golf course, pitching horseshoes, fishing and “manicuring” his lawn. Those pastimes were interspersed by trips with his wife of 51 years to every continent and over seventy countries. He sipped tea in a canoe on the Tigris River, danced the “Chicken Dance” on a playground in China, tried snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef and floated in the Dead Sea.
A loving father his favorite times were on the golf course and fishing with his beloved daughter Jennifer. Phone calls were frequent during football season especially when the Pittsburgh Steelers were televised in the area. Fittingly, Frank departed his earthly home shortly after they won their season opener.
Frank is survived by his wife Patricia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Jennifer and brothers Don, Philip, Olen and Jack. Also surviving are sisters and brother-in-law Felicia Gibson, Joe and Marybeth Krovisky and Nancy de Graff, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank’s wishes were to be cremated & interred in Beaver Cemetery Beaver, PA. Contributions in honor of Frank & Jennifer may be made to The Cancer Support Center 2028 Elm Road Homewood, IL 60430.
