Today, we honor the life of a man whose heart was as open as his door. He was the type of person who gave without hesitation, whether you needed a few dollars to get by or a place to rest your head when life felt too heavy. His generosity wasn't loud or boastful; it was steady, quiet, and real. He believed in helping people.
He enjoyed the simple joys of life, and he was known for his generosity, always sharing what he had, always showing up when someone needed him.
He touched countless lives with his kindness, always putting others before his own comfort. If you knew him, you knew someone who truly cared. He stood as a reminder that compassion still exists in this world, and that simple acts of giving can leave the deepest impact.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Delores Davis; his father, Fred Franklin; his brother, Bobby Delane Davis; his sister, Marilyn Ann Davis; and a good friend, Marcus Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Fred Davis Jr. (Rita), Catherine Davis, Bobby Davis, Denise Reynolds, Rico Davis, and Dayon Golden (Jasmine).
He is also survived by his grandchildren, who loved him dearly and brought him endless joy: El'Shawana, Fredtavious, Delveckio, Caltavious, Jarvis, Keeyon, Alvintino, Furninza, Jamarkus, Jaquese, Jaquez, Miesha, Bobby Jr., Chasity, Nikia, Destiny, Shamaya, Josh, Shaquita, Davonte, Rico, Javontez, Keondre, Tykevias, Gabryille, Da'Zyriah, Dayon Jr., Zyion, and Zayden.
He also leaves behind a special nephew, Larry Davis (Shelly), and a special niece, Linda Faye Davis, who will forever carry his memory close to their hearts.
Though he has left this earth, the love he shared and the lives he lifted will forever carry his memory forward. We laid him to rest with gratitude for the lessons he taught us, the support he offered, and the generous spirit he lived by each day. May he rest in peace, knowing his giving heart made this world better.
