Sneed Carnley Funeral Chapel - Copperas Cove (formerly Viss Family FH)Mickey Rex Davis Sr., born on March 19, 1937, in Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love. His life was a testament to service, having served honorably in both the Air Force and the US Army for 22 years, during which he received a Bronze Star for his bravery in saving soldiers during the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, continuing his commitment to serving others.
Mickey's academic accomplishments included earning an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College, reflecting his belief in the importance of education. He was known not only for his service but also for his kind and patient demeanor. Mickey was a man who didn’t tolerate disrespect, yet he was always there when individuals needed support, embodying a character of compassion and strength.
In his leisure time, Mickey found joy in simple pleasures. He loved indulging in Butter Pecan Blue Bell Ice Cream and enjoyed playing golf, flying model airplanes, and fishing. These hobbies enriched his life and provided him with much happiness.
Mickey is survived by his loving daughter, Tessie Collins and her spouse; his son, Mickey Rex Davis Jr. and his wife; and his son, Mikey Davis and his spouse. He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren: Richeal Collins and her spouse and children; Angie Collins and her spouse and children; Chance Davis and his children; grandsons, Justin Davis and Bryce Davis; granddaughter Kristen Davis; and grandson Michael Davis. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and values forward.
Mickey was predeceased by his beloved wife, Angelina Torres Davis, whose memory remains cherished by all who knew her.
A graveside service to honor Mickey Rex Davis Sr. will take place on December 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Copperas Cove City Cemetery, located at 415 E Avenue A, Copperas Cove, Texas, 76522. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his remarkable life and the impact he made on many.
