Scott Martin was born on January 23, 1979, in Ohio and passed away on January 21, 2026, in Kempner, Texas. He was a dedicated family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, Shaylene, and their three sons, Dimas, Chase, and Gavin. For Scott, family was the cornerstone of his life, and he devoted himself wholeheartedly to ensuring that his loved ones always felt cherished and valued. His nieces and nephews eagerly looked forward to every moment spent with him, as Scott had a unique ability to offer his undivided attention, enveloping them in his warm and loving presence.
After graduating high school, Scott pursued further education with a focus on business management, and he honed his technical skills in the Bradley fighting vehicle systems maintainer course. Following his education, Scott proudly served in the United States Army for nearly seven years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. His military service included a tour in Korea, with later assignments at Fort Hood, Texas, and a deployment to Iraq from 2004 to 2005, establishing him as a valiant Combat Veteran. His dedication and service earned him numerous commendations including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, among others.
Beyond his military achievements, Scott was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar, often sharing this joy with his family. He was particularly fond of creating videos as a means to connect with people and spread meaningful messages, showcasing his talent as a brilliant videographer. Many have expressed how his work reached hearts around the globe, with some saying that Scott helped change their lives for the better.
Scott’s character was marked by his immense kindness, humility, and generosity. He was often described as having the biggest heart a man could possess and was known for knowing just the right words to lift others' spirits. His guiding principle, "Love is the Answer," resonated profoundly in his interactions, touching lives and forging bonds that crossed borders.
In addition to his creative pursuits, Scott loved spending time on the golf course or at the shooting range, relishing the opportunity to share these experiences with his family. He held a special affection for nostalgic moments spent playing old Nintendo 64 games with his wife and children, which encapsulated his unwavering commitment to family time.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Shaylene; his sons, Dimas, Chase, and Gavin; his grandmother, Cora; his father, Tim; stepfather, Dan; father-in-law, Todd; mother-in-law, Renee; and his siblings: Corey, Tara, Jennifer, Jesse, Kaleb, Sierra, Geoff, Christina, and Chrystal, along with his brother Seth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca; grandfather, Charles; aunt, Karen; and sister, Kendra.
As we remember Scott Martin, we honor a life filled with love, compassion, and an unwavering spirit of service both to his country and to his family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him and loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held on February 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Copperas Cove Location, located at 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. The funeral service will take place the following day, February 3, 2026, at 9:00 AM, also at the Copperas Cove Location. Immediately following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM in Killeen, TX, at 11463 TX-195, concluding at noon.
