Fred T. Doxsee, Jr., 69, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born on November 25, 1955, in Moline, IL, the son of Fredrick and Marilyn (Dahlgren) Doxsee. Fred was a graduate of Boone High School. He was a manager for Florsheim Shoes in various states for many years.
Fred was a self-taught musician that loved playing the guitar and fiddle. He enjoyed playing in local bands. He had an extensive knowledge of a broad variety of musical artists and their work from the early 60s to the present day. Fred also loved to watch all kinds of movies and had an exquisite memory of individual actors and scenes from movies he watched throughout his life. He will be most remembered for his great sense of humor and always being able to make you laugh. Despite his chronic struggles, he rarely complained.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marilyn Doxsee, and his brother, Steve Doxsee.
He is survived by his son, Bryan Doxsee of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Wayne (Alice) Doxsee of Schuylkill Haven, PA; sister, Cheryl (Luis) Sanchez of Ogden, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
