Fred Lamar Griffin, was born October 19, 1942 in Waycross, GA to Perry and Rosa Lee Crawford Griffin. Fred was a dedicated husband to his loving wife Judy Griffin for 33 years, a devoted father to Leigh (Jackie), Susan (Angie), Chad, Debbie, Sue (Jimmy), Becky (Jess) and Dana (Pookey). He was a proud grandfather to 7 grandchildren, Casey (Ryan), Jamie (Marty), Cody (Andrea), Taylor (Gabby), Tabitha (David), Aiden, Mckinzie, Christian (Nina), and Cody, and a loving great grandfather to Beckett, Easton, Makenzie, Madelynn, Khi, Ayden, Gracie, Holden, Cooper, and Colton.
He is survived by his siblings, Barbara (Mike), Terry (Darlene), Debbie (Bobby) and Rickey.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Eldean, Bobby (Burniece), Linda (Bobby), Norma Jean, Berniece and Janelle and great-grandchild, Camryn.
Fred, known as Poppy to his family, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Fred wants to be remembered for having served his country with honor.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, in Lockport, LA, on Saturday, October 18, 2025 starting at 9 am with military honors to be held at 10 am. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.
