Fred Henry Heinz, of Antigo, died on March 19, 2025 at Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of Compassus Hospice. He was 85 years old. He was born on July 13, 1939 in Lodi, California, a son of Henry and Hazel (McKenzie) Heinz.
He married Patricia (Schwanke) Davis in 1992. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2017.
Fred was a heavy equipment operator for many years, having worked all across the country. The couple moved to Antigo in 2002.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. In his later years he enjoyed working on puzzles.
Survivors include four children, George Davis of Springfield, Missouri, Lisa (Ron) Benoit of Albany, Oregon, Joyce Davis of Albany, Oregon and Ellen (Jeremy) Mosher of Antigo; grandchildren, Toni-Lynn (Clayton) Woods of Albany,Oregon, twins, Jessie and Jessica of Milwaukee, Taylor Rose (Jared) Marshall of Lebanon, Oregon, Brittany (Jonathan) Wing of Racine, and Kiera Mosher of Antigo; three great-grandchildren, Brayleigh Woods, Hudson Marshall, Everly Marshall, and Daniel Woods (on the way); and a brother, William "Bill" Heinz of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
