Jerry proudly served in the National Guard for 22 years. He was a retired custodian from the Unified School District of Antigo.
He enjoyed taking Chunkie for walks, talking to people, and gave the best hugs. He was a long-time Antigo Red Robin athletic supporter.
Survivors include his wife, Anna "Sissee"; two sons, Mike (Debbie) Igl of Antigo and Josh (Renee) Igl of Wausau; a daughter, Sarah (Joel) Goetsch of Rothschild; two grandchildren, Quinn (Jeaurdyn) Goetsch of Plover and Jonathan (Spencer Johnson) Elmergreen of Milwaukee; a sister, Jeanne Pagel of Antigo; and two brothers-in-law, Butch (Ginny) Danielski of Wausau and Frank (Ginny) Danielski of Appleton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jesse; a brother, Leonard Igl; and a brother-in-law, Gerald (Karen) Danielski.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A special thank you to LeRoyer Hospice and veterans for the pinning ceremony Jerry received on Monday,
and to Aspirus Home Health and Palliative Care.

Dear Jonathan (and to your family) ~ May God bless and grace you as you experience the loss of your loving grandfather. Knowing you, I can only imagine what a dynamic and sweet soul he was on our earth. Like you, serving and touching many.
