She was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1955. On June 6th, 1959 she married Donald Igl at St. John Catholic Church.

Verna's life revolved around her family. Don & Verna shared their lives together for over 63 years. Their love for each other was inspiring to those around them. Making countless clothes, curtains, and quilts. Crocheting and knitting many hats and mittens for her family. Making baby blankets was one of her favorites. She was a great cook, with so many different ways to make potatoes. She enjoyed baking sweets and holiday treats. Playing cards with family and friends was a great way to socialize and have fun.
