He was born April 22, 1928 in Riverton, WV to the late Garnett A. and Margie Harper Huffman.
Fred was a police chief for the Town of Broadway.
On June 10, 1950 he married the former Betty Elizabeth Biller, who preceded him in death on June 13, 2011.
Surviving are three sons, Roger Huffman, Bobby Huffman, Joseph Huffman; one daughter, Debra Shoemaker; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
Pastor Glen Turner will conduct a graveside service 10:00 AM Monday at Cedar Run Church of the Brethren cemetery in Broadway.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 PM Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broadway Police Department, 113 South Central Street, Broadway, VA 22815.
