Fred Ben Meiser

Fred Ben Meiser, age 82, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2025.

Born on October 25, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, Fred lived a life characterized by his love for his family. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary and went on to establish a successful career in Sales after settling in New Philadelphia with his wife, Barbara.

Fred was a true homebody and was happiest living in an unassuming way. He had a lifelong appreciation for all things auto racing and enjoyed attending NASCAR races as well as watching them on television. Fred was an avid music enthusiast who enjoyed taking his family to innumerable live music concerts in virtually any musical genre. He was also a voracious reader, mostly enjoying crime fiction novels, and he kept his mind sharp with daily crossword puzzles. He enjoyed fine dining and seeking the tranquility and peace of Florida beaches. He found immense joy and took great pride in his granddaughters, Madeline and Caroline Meiser, and his grand-dogs, Tucker and Annie.

Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Meiser, and his parents, Frederick Ben Meiser and Vera Loss.

In addition to his granddaughters, he is survived by his devoted son, Michael Meiser, and his wife, Jill.

In honoring Fred’s wishes, there will be no public services. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
