Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ware Funeral Home on Mar. 28, 2025.
Fred K. Plume, 63, of Frankfort, Ohio departed this life on March 26, 2025 at 10:22am, surrounded by his loving wife and kids. Fred was born in Port Jefferson, LINY on October 25, 1961 and was 1 of 12 siblings. His parents, Clinton and Jean Plume, unfortunately passed away in car accident together on July 5, 1964, leaving the 12 siblings to be divided up amongst family and friends. Fred, was taken into the home of Frank and Dorothy Klemm. This is where Fred grew up and became a family with the Klemms. Fred now had an additional brother and sister, Paula Klemm and Richie Klemm. Fred grew to love his new family and they will always be "his family".
Fred, is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Vickie Plume. They were married on April 19, 1985 and was looking forward to celebrating 40 years of marriage next month. Fred would often tease and say he was looking forward to that day so everyone could get him sympathy cards. Fred and Vickie, happily raised their family, (Greg "Willie" Haddox, Jeff (Heather) Plume, Samantha (Levi) Ross on the same road that Vickie grew up on in Frankfort, Ohio. Fred is also survived by his 8 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Savannah, Jace, Samuel, Journee, Zella, Alexander and one on the way. Also, his living siblings Jean Root, Helen Boeke, Debbie McIntosh, Caroline Loomis, Ann Dee, Kenneth Plume, Wayne Eid, and William Plume. Fred is also survived by several nieces and nephews but special mention to Clint, Joey and Cheri who fondly referred to him as Uncle Dad.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents and his Uncle Frank and Aunt Dar, who raised him, his brothers Clinton (Butch) Plume, Larry Gorman, and his sister Dee Helton. Several other family members also including his father-in-law James "Bill" Joseph and his mother-in-law Betty Nichols.
Fred, was a kind and compassionate man of many liberal opinions that never met a stranger. He was the father that didn't have to be, the guy you could always call when you needed something or advice. You definitely had to make sure you had your day cleared if you called to talk to him because he could talk for hours. He was never on time for anything in his life. You could always find him wherever there was a car that needed fixed or people that needed fed. He was an amazing cook and catered many events with Vickie including all of his kids' weddings. Fred was a die-hard New York Yankees fan. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
