Fred Simpson Watford

Fred Simpson Watford, 85, passed away from mesothelioma, November 24, 2023, at his home in Tallahassee, FL. Fred was born in Jackson County, FL on December 21, 1937, to Nelson and Ida Watford. Fred graduated from Graceville High School when he was 16 years old and then with the permission of his parents, he enlisted in the United States Navy. After leaving the military, he became an automobile mechanic and after more than 33 years of service he retired from Courtesy Cars in Tallahassee.
Fred leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Annette Watford, a daughter, Debra Watford and his two sons, Fred Jr and Craig Watford and two step-sons, Robert and Kenneth Presnell, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and 2 step-grandsons.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Rd, Tallahassee, FL. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM and the burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Fred's name to the charity of your choice. The family would also like to let everyone know that casual dress is certainly appropriate.
