Ms. Freda Louise Baucom, of Dyersburg, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Okeena Health & Rehabilitation.
She was born August 3, 1945 to the late Arthur and Dellar King. Ms. Freda was loved by all who knew her during her years working in production for ERMCO Manufacturing and cherished time spent caring for her siblings and the young members of her family. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the most important part of her life and she loved sharing scripture and gospel music with anyone she met. She is remembered as a prayer warrior, encourager and loving friend to many. She was a devoted member of The Gathering Place Church and First Christian Church in Dyersburg. She loved any opportunity to spend time with her family members and leaves a legacy of love. One family member shares: "To know her was to love Ms. Freda"
Freda is survived by a brother, Bernie King and wife, Peggy, of Smyrna, TN; a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and was loved as "Gram-Gram" by Amber Hankins, husband Brian, and their children Kailee & Colton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Norma Thompson and Linda Smith; and her brothers, Howard, Harvey, Bob, Cletis, J.T. and Silas King.
A memorial service to celebrate the life and love of Ms. Freda Baucom will be held at Dyersburg Funeral Home on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 12 p.m. conducted by Mr. Hirchie Schaffner. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. and interment will follow services in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family ask that memorials be directed to support the work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Ms. Freda would leave everyone with two pieces of wisdom as a testament to her faith and hope: "Love God, Love People" and "If I don't see you again, I'll see you on the other side!"
