Freda M. Swinderman

Freda M. Swinderman, age 89, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Dover's New Dawn Healthcare Center.
Born September 2, 1935, in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Hazel (Gatchell) Roth. Freda attended school in Gnadenhutten, and, on July 3, 1954, married Kenneth D. Swinderman. The couple had five daughters and shared nearly 54 years of marriage prior to Kenneth's passing on April 5, 2008. Freda was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She especially enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and cookouts.
Freda is survived by her daughters, Brenda Shalosky of New Philadelphia, Cathy Meighen of Kimbolton, Carol (Aden) Troyer of Fresno, and Lisa (Ervin) Troyer of Port Washington; her grandchildren, Andy (Tiffany Collins) Fechuck, Bryan Troyer and Matthew (Alexa Long) Troyer; her great-grandchildren, Braxton, Adrianna and Carter; her brother, Homer Roth; and her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Kenneth, Freda was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Redman; her son-in-law, Richard Meighen; and her brother, Foster Roth.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, June 6, 5 - 7 p.m. Freda's funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, Dover.
