Graveside services for Dorcas Tolbert will be held 10:30 Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Welcome Home Cemetery with Bro. Elgin McFadden officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM.
Freda Dorcas Franklin Tolbert was born in Rosefield on April 13, 1942 to the union of her parents, Homer Carey Franklin and Freddie Florence Clark Franklin and passed from this life peacefully at her daughters house with a belly full of ice cream headed for Heaven. She was adventurous throughout the years. Dorcas enjoyed, fishing, hunting, sewing and crafting. She loved going to church, reading and studying her bible. Dorcas had certain shows on tv that she watched, and was always ready for Rhonda to bring her to DQ to get a shake.
Dorcas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Tolbert; five siblings; and a granddaughter Tori Thames. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Hoopie Thames (Kim); daughter, Rhonda Blanks; step-daughter, Misty Tolbert Castro Vilares (Marcelo); grandchildren, Chad Page (Kelly), Henry Volentine (Gwen), Jessica Blanks (Pierre), Taylor Thames (Daniel Lawrence); great-grandchildren, Joshua Volentine, Caitlynn Page, River Plott-Delia, Koralee Delia, Iris Lawrence, and baby Lawrence on the way.
Pallbearers will include Chad Page, Henry Volentine, Josh Volentine, Randy Benson, and Todd Lawrence.
