Freddie Ruth Tarver-Gray was born on August 16, 1947 in
Bakersfield, California to the parents of Fred Andrew Tarver and Ruth Helen Greer-Tarver (both deceased).
She married David Merrill Arnold (deceased) and later married Luther Gray (deceased). In Lamont, California, she attended Lamont Elementary School, Myrtle Avenue Middle School, and Mountain View Junior High, where she played the saxophone and was in the marching band. Then she attended Arvin High School in Arvin, California, and graduated in June of 1965.

As a little child, she was very quiet, observant and aware; she could tell you everything that was going on in the house. She was also funny, mean, and mischievous; nevertheless, she could also be very kind and generous to other people, especially to children. She liked to dress up and primp. She liked to sing (Two Lovers). She loved her black Cadillac. She loved perfumes and experimenting with different hair colors and hair styles. Later in life, she loved writing music and movie scripts.
Some of her favorite foods were seafood, especially Crab in a Bag's Catfish dinner, Chinese food from Bill Lee's, Mexican food, Soul food, and sweets and desserts.
Preceding her in death were her two sons (twins): Demetrius Gray and Shanell Gray.
She leaves to mourn her passing: Daughter, Lyvette Irene Arnold-Clark; Granddaughter, Raquel Clark; Grandsons, James Lavell Robinson and Richard Clark; Great Granddaughters, Carli Roberson and Charity Crawford; Sisters, Curlie Ann Tarver-Arnold of
