Freddie Lewis Roberts Sr.

FREDDIE'S JOURNEY
Freddie Lewis Roberts, Sr. was born in Salisbury, Maryland on Monday, June 14, 1937 to Indianan Reid and Earl Handy Roberts (both deceased). He passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2024. Freddie joined the United States Army in 1963 and served four years. Upon his return, he matriculated at Prince Georges Community College.
He was an avid learner who honed in many skills and received certificates in carpentry and masonry. He was employed as a Maintenance Engineer at Leland Memorial Hospital for seventeen (17) years and the hospital for sick children for eight years, both located in Prince George's County, Maryland, until retiring.
On May 13, 1957, he was enjoined in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Betty Anne Wilson (deceased), his first girlfriend. They were married for sixty-six (66) years.
Freddie was a faithful and active member of the Salisbury Seventh-Day Adventist Church for many years where he was baptized (renamed New Life SDA Church). Also, Bladensburg SDA Church, among other churches when he moved to Hyattsville, Maryland, and the Park SDA Church in Salisbury when he moved back home. Because of his love for Jesus Christ, he was re-baptized on April 20, 2024, showing his true commitment to his Father in Heaven. His biggest passion was reading and studying God's word.
He served his God Faithfully as an Elder, Deacon, and Master Guide in the Pathfinders Club, among other offices. Freddie lived the word and shared the word of God with others, He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Yes, we who loved him will shed tears at the pain of losing him, but will eventually smile because of the good memories he left us.
He is survived by: his five children Tyann E. Roberts, Freddie L. Roberts, Jr., (Zelda), Linda Roberts Avert (James), Michael L. Roberts (Melissa and Patrick J. Roberts; seven grandchildren, Adrian Roberts (Ralea), Dominique Roberts, Camara Roberts, Niya Avery, Jasmine Roberts, Michael Roberts, Jr. and Brandon Roberts; ten great grandchildren; four siblings, Alphonso Roberts (Brenda), Shirley Perry, Vivian Ennis and George Roberts and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Anne Roberts and three siblings, Earl Handy Roberts, Jr., Richard Roberts and Margaret Roberts.
