Frederick Amrose Obituary

Frederick James Amrose "Fred", of Beverly Hills, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was 78 years old.
Fred was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. He graduated as salutatorian from Nottingham High School in 1963, and was an accomplished member of the tennis team. After high school, he served in the United States Army Reserve. During his 20 plus year career he achieved a rank of Major. During that time, he went on to attend Cornell University, and eventually studied Law at University of Michigan Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate degree. It was in Michigan that he met his wife of over 50 years, Judith (Stamann) Amrose. It was also in Michigan where he raised his family and started his professional career as a corporate attorney. He approached his work with a passion and dedication that he showed in all of his endeavors. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Birmingham. He also spent years assisting the Birmingham Historical Society. Whether it was tinkering with a car engine, or fiddling with random projects, he approached challenges with an unwavering determination to concoct solutions.
He was known for his quiet but sharp wit, patience, tenacity, and his caring heart. He was more than willing to use the skills he had to offer assistance in any way he could. He had an intense sense of responsibility for those that he cared about and if you knew him, you were part of that circle.
His passing will leave a profound void in the lives of those who loved him. He was the son of Gustus (decd) and Minnie (decd), Husband to Judy, Father to Kathy, Susan, and Steven (Sarah), Brother to Janet (decd), Mark, and Dean (Dotty), Grandfather to Jolie and Allison. Uncle and Cousin to many, and friend to all that knew him.
Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond and Sons Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073: Tuesday May 7th between 1PM-5PM followed by a brief ceremony celebrating his life from 5PM-5:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions are made in his honor to his granddaughters' college funds. For years, this has been his express wish when asked what gift he would like for any holiday or birthday. The family believes this would be consistent with his wishes in life, and that your kind donation would help support the education of his grandchildren while creating a lasting impact in his memory. Contributions can be made to their Michigan Education Savings Plan at Ugift529.com for Allison using code Y3T-H6K or Jolie using code H8P-91Y.
