Frederick J. Argall, Jr., 84, of Negaunee Township, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday afternoon, July 29, 2025 while in the care of his loving family and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice. A special thank you to Jamie for her kindness, concern, and compassion providing care to Fred in his final days will never be forgotten.
Fred was born March 4, 1941 in Ishpeming to Frederick J. Sr. and Senja A. (Levaniemi), Sr. and graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1960. He was employed by Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company as a welder, beginning his career working on the Alaskan Pipeline and continuing at numerous mine locations in Marquette County. He retired with 35+ years of service with CCI.
Spending time outdoors at the family camp south of Republic was Fred's true love. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting, bird hunting, blueberry picking and tending to the family property. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on classic cars.
Surviving are his son, Terry (Nita) Argall of Negaunee Township; two grandsons: Dr. Aaron (Dr. Holly) Argall of Columbus, OH and Austin (Tabitha) Argall of Negaunee; his great-grandson, Aiden; one brother, Stanley (Paula) Argall of Jenison, MI; two sisters: Sonja(Richard) Lequia of Englewood, FL, Karen Aho of Ishpeming and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Curtis and his brother-in-law William Aho.
