The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements. Frederick Ivan Currier was born in Denver, Colorado, on January 18, 1941, to his father, Frederick Currier, and his mother, Mary (mickie) Currier (carlton). Fred's dad was a detective for Denver PD, and his mom was a dancer and dance instructor. Fred grew up in Denver, going to East High School and living in close proximity to Washington Park, where he learned to fish. When Fred was older, he worked at the Mile High Kennel Club, working with greyhounds at the track. When Fred met his first wife, they started a family, and he began his career, working for 25 years at Mountain Bell, where he retired in 1985. Fred & his wife had four children: Connie Currier (Whitfield), Frederick Ivan Currier II, Steve Currier, and Mark (Bear) Currier. He taught his kids during this time to work installing sprinkler systems on the weekends. Fred enjoyed teaching his children how to hunt in Glenwood Springs in the White River National Forest as high as they could, all the way to Mount Baldy. It would snow so much each year the family would have to wait for a snowcat to come up and clear a path so they could drive back down in its tracks and find a better hunting spot lower on the mountain. Fred Collected Model 12 shotguns and loved shooting trap. He taught his children at a young age to reload shotgun shells so they would never run out. They grew up on several farms in Fort Lupton, Colorado, from 1976 to 1985. Fred lost contact with his family for several years but never forgot about them. The memories and love remained. Fred joined a new family that year, where he met his second wife, Jennifer Utecht. He was welcomed by 3 stepchildren, Colleen Peterson, Connie Peterson, and Crissy Peterson, and grandchildren. Fred and Jennifer raised Brandi Bingham (granddaughter/daughter) and adopted daughter Annie Currier. Fred & Jennifer and their two girls moved to Naturita, Colorado, in 1994, where they finished raising Brandi. During this time in his life, Fred enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with his wife and children. Fred & Jennifer ran several small businesses selling firewood and Deep Rock bottled water in Naturita, Colorado. Fred taught his wife and daughters, Annie and Brandi, how to gold pan in the Colorado Mountains and later how to smelt the gold they found. In 2003 Fred and his family moved to
Torrington, Wyoming, where Annie would later graduate and Fred would settle. Fred lived in Wyoming for 22 years, telling jokes and stories to his family and friends at the grocery store. Fred would later regain contact with his son, Mark, and would meet Mark's wife, Jaylynn, and grandson, Jake. Reuniting two families into one. Some of Fred's favorite things to do and favorite pastimes are fishing, Hunting, gold panning, trap shooting, camping, boxing, skiing, scaring, and playing jokes on his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Fred loved fully and unconditionally. He never spoke poorly of anyone and always had a smile on his face. Fred was a generous and giving man. When he had nothing to give, he shared his jokes, love, and smile, leaving a lasting positive impression on all who knew him. Fred came into people's lives as if he was always there. He was able to walk into lives as if people were homes built for his soul where memories never fade. As time passed, he helped care for his wife while she was on in-home hospice and passed on January 26, 2020. Fred's dying wish was to pass away in the same home and room where his wife died. He passed away surrounded by family on September 26, 2025, in the same room as the love of his life. He was predeceased in death by his father, Frederick Currier, and his mother, Mickie.
