William R. "Bill" Johnson

William "Bill" Robert Johnson, 76, passed away on October 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 9:30 am at St. Rose Catholic Church in Torrington with Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will be at the LaGrange Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Colyer Funeral Home from 1pm to 3pm.. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either St. Rose Catholic Church, Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center or to the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Bill was born on January 26, 1949 in Cheyenne, Wyoming the son of Ed and Elizabeth Johnson.
He was raised in LaGrange, Wyoming on the SS Ranch and raised registered Hereford and Angus cattle alongside his dad and brothers. Following the sale of the SS in 2006, Bill continued raising Angus cattle in Lakeside, NE and then in Veteran, WY, before retiring from the cattle business and moving to Torrington, WY with his wife, Chris.
Bill is survived by his wife, Chris; three children, Gene (Lindsay), Karl (Christi), Tyler (Myrrah); one brother,James (Lynda); five grandchildren, Karlie, Avary, Michael, Sydnee and Wyatt. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Elizabeth; a brother, Jelmer; sisters-in-law, Roxanna and Linda; brother-in-law, Mike Brown; and parents-in-law, Rollie and Pete Brown.
