Frederick C. DiMeo, 76, of Hope Valley, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Denise (Decelles) DiMeo, to whom he shared over 60 years of companionship and marriage. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francis G. and Anita M. (Duquette) DiMeo.
Frederick received his bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island and continued his education, with Rhode Island College where he received his master's degree. He went onto become an English Teacher with Coventry High School for 28 years prior to his retirement. Frederick continued to work as the Director of Golf with Fenner Hill Country Club for 15 years.
Fred was a passionate woodworker who found peace in crafting beautiful pieces by hand. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of spending time in the yard. He always found contentment in the simple pleasures of life and had a deep appreciation for living in the woods, where he felt at home surrounded by the beauty of nature. Above all, he cherished his time with his beloved wife, Denise. Their relationship was built on mutual respect, laughter, and a shared love for life's quiet moments. Every day, he found ways to make her smile, showing the depth of his love through small acts of kindness and unwavering devotion.
In addition to Denise, he is survived by his son, Trevorr DiMeo and his wife Beth of PA; son-in-law, Todd Greene; siblings, Margaret (Vincent) Vento, Evelyn (Kenneth) Bazar, and Barbara (John) Davenport; six adored grandchildren, Devynn DiMeo who lived with Frederick and Denise, Mellini Lunn, Megan Greene, Noemi DiMeo, Carlie DiMeo, and Adam DiMeo; one great-grandson, Francis Lamoureaux; life-long best friend, Thomas E. Simpson; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was the father of the late Jaclyn Greene, and brother of the late Francis A. DiMeo.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his Visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, followed by a Chapel Service at 1:00pm. Burial to take place in Wood River Cemetery, 85 Noose Neck Hill Rd., Wyoming, immediately following.
