Mary DiMeo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Budd Funeral Home on Nov. 19, 2025.
Mary Francis "Peggy" DiMeo (Milligan), age 92, passed away peacefully in Denver, Colorado on November 11, 2025, where she had moved several years ago to be near her daughter, Beth.
Peggy was born and raised in North Carolina, and, after marrying Frank Stanley there, Peggy and Frank moved to Alaska (where the couple's first child, Frank, was born), to Portland, Oregon (where their second child, Beth, was born), and then to Woodbury, New Jersey, where the couple finished raising their children.
Peggy worked for many years as a studio photographer for Barry Studios in Woodbury photographing weddings and portraiture. She also worked as a detective for The John Wanamaker stores, and later in life as a furrier for T. Zander & Sons. Peggy engaged in various entrepreneurial pursuits, including the curating of examples of fine vintage jewelry and art objects for resale. She loved to travel, particularly to visit her children and grandchildren, including many trips to the Carolina coastline and a European adventure, as well as countless hours together on the boat she shared with her second husband, Ed DiMeo, the "Wildcat", moored in Ocean City, NJ. Peggy and Ed spent their final years together in their bucolic Newfield, NJ home.
Peggy was a charismatic and caring person, and truly enjoyed having an audience where she was known for offering just the right advice to her many friends, acquaintances, and family members. These abilities served her well in her 1960's political activities, culminating in Peggy being elected to the Gloucester County Republican Council, paving the way for future generations of women to do the same.
Peggy was preceded in death by her second husband, Edward J. DiMeo, her first husband Frank, and her six siblings. She is survived by her son, Frank Stanley (Marybeth Dail), Frank and MaryBeth's sons, Nathan Stanley and Duncan Stanley, her daughter Beth Duncan Tyra (Kenneth), Beth's son and daughter, Andy Duncan (Stacey) and Liz Tupper (Andy), as well as her great-grandchildren, Ava Duncan, and Tom and Jack Tupper.
A private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 22, at the Gloucester County Veterans' Cemetery, Monroe Twp, NJ, where Peggy will be buried alongside her husband, Ed DiMeo.
