Fred served proudly in the United States Navy aboard the Destroyer USS William R. Rush 714 during the Korean War from 1953 to 1958 and on standby duty during the Vietnam Conflict from 1958 to 1962. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton and Port Clinton V.F.W.
Fred worked at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth Massachusetts as a Maintenance Boiler Engineer and later worked and retired as a Maintenance Engineer at the Peter Eckrich Company in Fremont Ohio.
He loved anything to do with cars and was always involved with his children giving a helping hand with projects. He will be dearly missed.
Fred is survived by his brother Larry (Della) Dubbert and families; sister-in-law: Helen Dubbert and families; children Fred Jr. (Elisabeth Kiker) of Norwalk Ohio, Ken Dubbert (Melanie) of Oak Harbor Ohio, and Susan Fleenor of Marblehead Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his second wife Diane Dubbert, brothers William Dubbert, Bernard (Irene) Dubbert, Gaylord Dubbert, and sister Mildred (Eugene) Kline, father William Dubbert Sr and mother Hilda Dubbert and son-in-law Robert "RJ" Fleenor.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, May, 30, 2025 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton with visitation prior to the service starting at 12:00 pm. Interment with military honors will be at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Port Clinton V.F.W. 214 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
