Gary J. Kormendy

Gary J. Kormendy, 78, of Catawba Island, OH passed away on December 25, 2025 at Ottawa County Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. Gary was born in Barberton, OH on April 07, 1947, the son of James and Viola Louise (Bowers) Kormendy. He married Christine "Patsy" Blohm on June 21, 1969. He was a graduate of the University of Akron and retired in 2013 as the CFO of Bunting Bearings. Additionally, Gary was a member of the Catawba Island Club, where he enjoyed many good times with the Yachtsmen and "Coffee Guys". Gary is survived by wife Patsy Kormendy; niece: Crystal Buck of San Diego and nephew: Greg Buck of San Diego. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: June Audrey Buck-Wilkie.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 East Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH 43440. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH, with Rich Thewlis officiating.
