Frederick Wendell Garnto age 87, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11th at Freedom Church with Rev. Tim Thomas, Rev. Randall Thomas and Rev. Gary Yonce officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Garnto was born in Wrightsville, Georgia on July 5, 1938, to the late W.D. Garnto and Fannie Hall Garnto. He worked for Atlanta Gas Light company and retired with 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son Phillip Rodney Garnto, grandson Frederick Scott Garnto, sister Florence Hawkins, two brothers, Raleigh Garnto and Bill Garnto. He was a member of Freedom Church and well thought of and loved by many.
Survivors include his wife Jan Miller Garnto of Milledgeville, a daughter Wendelyn Garnto Bass of Milledgeville, a son Bryan Garnto (Shannon) of Haddock, daughter-in-law Gloria Garnto of Davie, Fl, a brother Frank L. Garnto of Milledgeville, grandchildren: Derick Garnto (Ashley), Phillip Garnto (Eva), Dellacy Bass, Marae Llambes (Cody), Alyssa Harrison (Chandler), Lauren Ricketson (Clint), Bryan Garnto, Jr., Kyra Dobler, Ally Rae Dobler, Trip Dobler, Nathan Worsham and Lila Worsham, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Church.
Friends who wish may make memorial contribution to Freedom Church or flowers will be accepted.
