He was the husband of Sandra Lee (Hoyer) Gieringer, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born March 1, 1943, in Reading, he was a son of the late Edward Charles Gieringer, II. and Margaret (Barell Hostetter) Gieringer.
Frederick was a 1961 graduate of Fleetwood High School.
He was employed as a tool and die maker with Dana Parish Corporation, Reading for 17 years, and Budd Company, Philadelphia for 4 years, in the same capacity. Subsequently, he worked with Giering Equipment Sales, Shoemakersville for 20 years, until 2001, when he went to work with William Cohen and Sons as a salesman, where he worked for 10 years.
Frederick was an assistant Boy Scout Master for Fleetwood Troop 7273 for 2 years. He was a 25-year member of Masonic Chandler Lodge 227, West Reading, where he was a past board of directors of the Masonic Foundation.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his four children: Brian D., husband of Marla (Weida) Gieringer of Fleetwood; Steven G., husband of Dawn (Riffel) Gieringer of Fleetwood; Michael F., husband of Wendy (Doll) Gieringer of Mohrsville; and Cori L. (Gieringer), wife of Matthew W. Drey of Longswamp Township.
Also surviving are his 12 grandchildren: Joshua, husband of Caitlyn Gieringer; Kathryn Gieringer, companion of Jason Zimpleman; David Gieringer, Nicholas Drey; Alysha (Gieringer), wife of Dillon Jauch; Jessica Gieringer; Macy Drey; Carly Gieringer; Patrick Gieringer, Levi Gieringer, Christian Gieringer.
There are also four great grandchildren, Julia, Sarah, Maxon, and Jaden.
Frederick was preceded in death by a grandson, Donavan M. Gieringer in 2019, and by his five siblings: Edward C. Gieringer, III., Herbert L. Gieringer, Charles E. Gieringer, Kenneth A. Gieringer, and Susan M. (Gieringer) Shoch.
