Frederick Greis Obituary

Frederick Charles Greis III, passed away February 3, 2026 in Portland, Maine. He was born in Michigan and graduated from Jordan Elbridge High School. Frederick was a Gunners Mate with the U.S. Navy on the USS Bainbridge. He worked at Packaging Corp. of America for over 40 years as a forklift operator. Frederick was a member of United Steel Workers, and for the last 13 years traveled with the International Steel Workers every year helping the various locals. He was a history buff and gun enthusiast. Frederick loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and was a collector of Harley Davidson T-Shirts, and poker chips.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Charles Greis II, and his sister, Victoria.
Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Becky (Denmark) Greis; four children: Louis, Heather (Dusty) Treaster, Freddy and Frannie; his mother, Carol Greis; four sisters: Julie (Pat) Bartolini, Wendy (Paul) Seabrook, Melissa Greis and Susan (Kevin) Abbott, whom he was very close with; many nieces and nephews; his childhood friend, Kevin O'Donnel, Pastor Graziano, and his beloved cat, Annabelle.
Special thanks to the United Steel Workers.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 12 – 2 PM, immediately followed by a prayer service at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clear Path for Veterans, Attn: Development 1223 Salt Springs Road Chittenango, NY 13037.
