Frederick 'Fred' Hoyt Obituary Frederick E. (Fred) Hoyt, age 76, Rowley, MA; passed away on 5/19/2024 at home with his family by his side.
He was born on November 29, 1947, in Towanda, PA to H. Dean and Sarah C. Hoyt.
Fred grew up on the family farm in New Albany, PA and graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School class of 1965, and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1971. Trooper Hoyt retired from the PA State Police in 1981 where among other duties, he was a stunt rider on the police rodeo team. After moving to Massachusetts in 1982, Fred entered the construction field and retired from the IUOE Local 4 in 2018.
Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, "puttering around" the family property, and watching sports on TV in his man cave. He was preceded in death by parents Dean and Sarah, brothers David Hoyt and Terry Hoyt, and sister Gwen Durante.
Fred is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy, son Bret (Diane) of Carlisle, PA, daughter Corinne of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, son David of Rowley, MA, son Adam of Hamilton, MA, granddaughters, Kacey (Josh) and Kara, great-grandsons Ace and Jonny, ex-wife Gail (PA), siblings Ed (FL), Susan (MD), Reese (NC), and Roger (PA), brother-in-law Gus (PA), sister-in-law Marlea (PA), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on August 10, 2024 at the Rowley Veterans Association from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
