Frederick George Krager, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 15th.
He was born April 20, 1931 to Leonard and Elizabeth Krager in Akron, Ohio. Fred grew up in Akron and graduated from Central High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from General Tire computer operations. He attended The Chapel in Akron. He was a left-handed softball pitcher and held The King and his Court to no runs. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed sharing sports and boating on the Portage Lakes with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Krager. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Kasten) Krager of 56 years; daughters, Brenda (Mark) Reppa, Karen (Daniel) Nicolino; son, Alan Krager; grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Griffith, Danny Nicolino, Matthew Reppa; and great-granddaughter, Bella Ann Griffith.
Calling hours Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron; service immediately following with Pastor Bob Schneider officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Chapel Global Missions Fund, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH 44304 would be welcomed.
