Krieger, Frederick W., III. Beloved husband for 64 years of Sheila (nee Fitzgerald) Krieger. Loving father of Frederick W., IV (Lorie) Krieger, Daniel Paul (Jackie) Krieger and the late Karen Elizabeth (liv. Charles) Bishop. Cherished grandpa of Jennifer Louise Bishop, Jeffrey Wilson Bishop, Frederick Conrad (Sara) Krieger, Hope Elise Krieger (fiancé Dominic Mileti), and Hannah Mae Krieger (Zak Neal). Dear brother of Mary Jane (late James) Wood and the late Phyllis (William P.) Shvidrik. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He passed away on January 16th at the age of 87.
Fred was born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey. He graduated from Cornell University in 1957 with a major in chemistry. Fred married Sheila in 1958 and started a family in addition to beginning a number of career changes. After holding a series of marketing management positions with several major pharmaceutical companies, Fred became a marketing specialist for Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware and later in packaging at R.A. Jones in Erlanger, Kentucky and FMC Corp in Green Bay, Wisconsin. His career took a detour into small business with the purchase of the Precision Tune franchise in greater Cincinnati in the late 1970's. Fred changed careers again after a transformational experience with God, working for the U.S. State Department with Sheila constantly by his side, serving in the Citizens Democracy Corps advising small business in the Ukraine, Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic for fifteen years. He continued to remain active and worked with his family in their businesses until his demise. A member of several missionary organizations, Fred ministered in Europe and the Philippines as well as supporting hospitals and orphanages in Moscow, Russia for fifteen years. He remained an active and dedicated Christian throughout his life.
Fred's family will receive friends on Friday, January 28th from 1:30 pm until time of Funeral Service at 2:30 pm at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Memorials may be made to Uttermost Missions (PO Box 499024, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. www.uttermost.org)
