Frederick Odon Leal

LEAL, FREDERICK ODON, of Pontiac, passed away January 16, 2023 surrounded by all of his children at the age of 91. Born on November 18, 1931 in Asherton, Texas to parents of late Cecilio and Maria Leal (nee Reyes Diaz); beloved husband of the late Ester Leal (nee Martinez) for 54 wonderful years; dear father of Celia E. Fern, Frederick M. Leal, R. Steven Leal, Cindy M. Morales, Victor O. Leal, Monica D. (Richardo) Nacianceno Sr., Patrick R. (Cheryl) Leal, Brenda A. (Charles) Stewart and preceded in death by daughter, Dianna L. Arcand, and siblings, Ruben, Ofilia, Ernestine, Lillian, and Mario; proud grandfather of 19, great grandfather of 15, and great great grandfather of 4; dearest brother of Rudy, Norbert, Caroline and Cecil. Frederick was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, once honorably discharged, he met the love of his life, Ester, in Michigan and together they started a family. He worked for Ford automotive company as a repairman, until he retired in 1983 with over 30 years of service. Frederick had an incredible work ethic; he was a self-made plumber, electrician, builder, and artist. He was an avid guitar and bass player and always enjoyed playing Tex-Mex and country style music. Frederick was also a poet. His positive energy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of life service will take place Saturday January 21, 2023.
Family will receive guests from 11:00-2:00 and service shall begin 1:30 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON (8909 Dixie HWY). Interment will take place at St. Peter's cemetery at a later date.
