Frederick Clarence "Fred" Libengood ObituaryLibengood, Fred, our family pioneer passed away on May 18th, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by family at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Fred lived a long, rich life filled with family, friends, and a spirit of adventure that carried him across the United States & Canada. He will be remembered as a revered gospel musician whose gift and ministry touched thousands of people for the Lord, an avid fisherman, and a man who loved his family deeply. Fred's life mattered.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Maude; two brothers Bill & Henry; his sister Mary; and his great grandson Theodore Jireh.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marlys; his son Barry and his wife Sue; his son Brent and his wife Jackie; his daughter Pamela and her husband Rick; his combined 6 grandchildren & their spouses with a combined 14 great grandchildren; his brother Dave and his wife Selba, his sister Cleda and her husband Ernie, his sister Betty and her husband Jim; and many nieces & nephews.
We will miss his voice, his stories, his sense of humor - but we take comfort knowing that he is with our Father in Heaven.
A celebration of Fred's life will be held on Saturday, May 31, at Oasis Church: 11901 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55343. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm with the service starting at 1:00pm.
