Frederick C. Miller, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in his Shillington residence. He was the loving husband of Sandra L. (Luckenbill) Miller, with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.
He was born in Reading to the late Roy H. and Edna G. (Seader) Miller. Fred worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life and proudly owned his own service station. He also drove tractor trailers throughout the United States and hauled steel beams. He worked at the Ames Distribution Center and later worked in the bakery at Weis.
Fred enjoyed bowling, golfing, cards (particularly "knock-knock"), jigsaw puzzles, and word searches. He treasured camping trips to PA's beautiful state parks with family and friends. Fred made it his goal to camp until he turned 85, and this past Fall he and Sandy enjoyed their last trip of the year. They shared a daily ritual of watching General Hospital, followed by her nap and his game of Solitaire.
He was a long-time member of Immanuel U.C.C. of Shillington. He looked forward to making sandwiches every month for the church's contribution to New Journey in Reading.
In addition to his wife, Sandy, Fred's memory will be treasured by their children: Tammy L. Arner, wife of William, of Mohnton; Michael F. Miller, husband of Tammy, of Sinking Spring; and Kevin G. Miller, husband of Jennifer, of Oley; grandchildren: Tori McGrath (James), Carli Miller, Olivia Marotta (Louis), Michael Miller, and Tabitha Arner; his sister, Patricia Dinino; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in Fred's memory to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
Funeral Services for Frederick will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel U.C.C., 99 S Waverly St, Shillington, PA 19607, with committal to follow at Belleman's Fairview Cemetery of Centre Township. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the start of services.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
