Frederick "Butch" Rabe Jr.

Frederick "Butch" Rabe, Jr., 84, of Kiel, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at home. Butch was born February 4, 1940, in Kiel, to the late Frederick Rabe, Sr. and Irma (Buchman) Rabe. He was a 1958 graduate from Kiel High School and first seat playing the cornet in the band On June 18, 1960, he married the former Shirley "Sue" Nelson at Trinity Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death January 12, 2010.
Butch was employed by Plyco Trimline as a production manager for 45 years prior to his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially traveling to the Caribbean and going up north. Butch also enjoyed working in his yard, keeping his home well maintained and was an avid football fan.
Survivors include his sons, Randy (Michelle) Rabe, Kiel and Ryan Rabe (Jacquelyn Posselt); his granddaughters, Mandy (Cullen) Silbernagel and Jamie (David) Munnik; his great-grandchildren, Jackson and Lucy; his sister-in-law, Pat Langenkabel and his brother-in-law, David Matthies.
In addition to his wife, Sue, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Matthies, his brothers-in-law, Ron, Duane and Aryls Nelson and his sisters-in-law, Lesa Wilbur and Vivian Nelson.
