Fredrick Francis Vandersnick, age 86, of Renner, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2026, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Memorial visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Garretson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Winchester Club.

Fred was born on February 16, 1940, in Sioux Falls, to Reynold and Agatha (Burkey) Vandersnick. He grew up on his parent’s farm and graduated from Garretson High School in 1958. After his graduation he served briefly in the Army National Guard before beginning his lifelong career with Raven Industries working with electronics and aerospace technologies. His career took him all over the world and even after retiring he returned to Raven as a consultant.

On September 6, 1963, he married Judith Nussbaum in Sioux Falls. They lived in the Renner area their entire marriage. He enjoyed hunting, gun collecting, and was an active member of the Winchester Club. He enjoyed taking trips with Judy with the highlight being their trip to Paris.

Survivors include his wife, Judy, Renner; siblings: Tom (Janet) Vandersnick, Pierre, Jude Klaus, Sioux Falls, Nancy Olund, Sherman, Sue Beatty, Wakonda, Peg Quamen, Garretson, Rick (Lurene) Vandersnick, Garretson, Mark (Julie Garry) Vandersnick, Sioux Falls, and Joe (Karen) Vandersnick, Garretson; brother, Dick (Marjorie) Nussbaum, Brandon; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
