Paul Joseph Vandersnick was born on November 10, 1965, in O'Neill, Nebraska to Donald and Marie (Burns) Vandersnick. Paul attended Ewing High School, where he played trumpet in the school band, ran track qualifying for the state meet in the 800-meter, played football and basketball, and was a member of the FFA. He graduated with the Class of 1984.

Following high school, Paul remained on the family farm, helping with the operation and devoted many years to caring for his mother. He worked for Fry Brothers Fertilizer, where he drove a milk truck and then spent ten years as a Brand Inspector.

Farming was more than a livelihood for Paul; it was his passion. He began with a single cow-calf pair and steadily grew his operation, which included feeding cattle. He took great pride in his livestock and had a special affection for his cattle and his dog, Ruby. Paul enjoyed attending auctions at the sale barn and farm auctions throughout the area. He was a familiar face at the feed store and he also met friends for morning pop and a breakfast sandwich at the quick shop.

Paul also enjoyed traveling, taking trips with the seed company to Jamaica, Hawaii, and Cancun. In his free time, he liked snow skiing, attending town team basketball games when they were around, deer hunting, and going for drives. Above all, Paul treasured time spent with his family. He was especially delighted in teasing his nieces and nephews, a role he embraced with humor and affection.

Paul is survived by his siblings, Leo (Stacy) Vandersnick of O'Neill, NE, Anna (Michael) Crabtree of Brunswick, NE, John (Kathy) Vandersnick of O'Neill, NE, Charles (Renee) Vandersnick of O'Neill, NE; eight nieces and nephews, Ashley (Brett) Wiebelhaus, Tiffany (Brian) Tjepkes, Heather (Ben) Larsen, Adrien Vandersnick, Kelsey (Jared) Beltz, Casey Vandersnick, Sarah Vandersnick, Traci (Brett) Halleen; 12 great nieces and nephews; and his canine partner, Ruby.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marie Vandersnick.
